What Do Those Letters After My Name Mean to You?!

What is a Holistic Health Practitioner (HHP)?

Since I already have an undergraduate degree in Sociology (and Education), I chose to attend Red Rocks Community College’s Holistic Health Program to obtain my Holistic Health Practitioner Certificate. This program provides the opportunity to learn a variety of complementary healing modalities. The program was originally created for nurses and is now open to all interested persons who are ready to expand their knowledge and skills in holistic care. The program is intended to enhance health-care practice as well as to prepare one to be a facilitator in the redesigning of the new health care system. Courses are offered to integrate healing on all levels: physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. Required courses are Wellness Coaching and Holistic Health I, II and III. I also took 11 electives to explore various healing methods. Some of my favorite subjects are Holistic Nutrition, Healing Touch and Herbology. One of the electives I took was about Aromatherapy. And so, my new journey into the world of essential oils began!

What is a Certified Clinical Aromatherapy Practitioner (CCAP)?

Well, this is kind of interesting! When I completed my aromatherapy certification, I asked the all-knowing internet (lol!) what acronym I should use. One of the options I saw was CCAP, which stands for Certified Clinical Aromatherapy Practitioner. Yes, that’s it I thought! I was already a Holistic Health Practitioner so that made total sense to me. So off I went and created my webpage using the domain name Kim Farrington CCAP. Shortly thereafter I found out the CCAP is also an acronym for a health professional who has been through Jane Buckle’s program, specifically. I have not attended Jane Buckle’s program. I hold a current Certified Nurse Aide license, but I am not a nurse. It is not my intention to hold myself out as a licensed health professional who is also a clinical aromatherapist through the Buckle program. I have, however, completed a 650-hour clinical aromatherapy program through Heart of Herbs Herbal School, a school accredited by the National Association of Holistic Aromatherapists. I am confident in my abilities to provide aromatherapy protocols to help you with identified health issues, and to track your therapy and results. With the number of hours of training I have completed, I am actually a Master Certified Clinical Aromatherapist. But I consider myself a Certified Clinical Aromatherapy Practitioner, a practicing, certified Clinical Aromatherapist.

Why work with me? In addition to my credentials, I have been educating the general public regarding essential oils for three years at various recreation centers throughout the Denver area. I teach classes on topics like green cleaning, spa and self-care, and seasonal wellness for cold and flu season. I host a MeetUp workshop each month. I offer my services for private events and parties. Get your friends together, pick an aromatherapy topic and host a workshop at your home, or my office! I am also a doTERRA Wellness Advocate and a certified AromaTouch practitioner. I am Level 1 & 2 Healing Touch trained and Level 1 Reiki trained and can add a touch of energy work into your aromatherapy care. I am a member of the National Association of Holistic Aromatherapists. I am passionate about essential oils and want to teach you how to incorporate them in to your daily health and beauty routines. Aromatherapy has real, measurable health benefits. I would love to help you discover a path on your healing journey!
